Town of La Plata Independence Day Celebration

The Town of La Plata is hosting a 4th of July Celebration and Watermelon Bash at the La Plata Town Hall. There will be musical entertainment, moon bounces, hot dogs, bottled water and ice cream – all free. Don’t miss the exciting Watermelon Bash featuring free watermelon slices, a watermelon eating contest, a watermelon roll (children ages 6 and under), and a watermelon toss! Town of Indian Head 4th of July Celebration and Fireworks

St. Mary’s College River Concert
Friday, July 2
St. Mary’s City. MD
Enjoy patriotic and inspirational musical selections, featuring the Marine Saxophone Quartet and award-winning pianist, Brian Ganz. Fireworks follow the concert. The weekly celebrations on the college’s Townhouse Green continue every Friday through July 30 with world-class music and a variety of food from local vendors. Gates open at 5 p.m. and concerts start at 7 p.m. These outdoor concerts are free and open to the public, and picnic baskets are welcome.

Largest fireworks display on the bay; music, food and games. The fireworks are discharged right in front of the Rod-n-Reel. But, any spot along the water in Chesapeake Beach should give you a good view. People typically start arriving between 5 and 6 p.m. So, get there early in order to find parking and procure a good spot. 410-257-2230.

Solomons Fireworks
Sunday, July 4
Dusk until …
Island-wide
The annual Solomons fireworks display will be held on Sunday, July 4th. Fireworks will be shot from a barge in the Patuxent River and can be viewed from the Riverwalk. In the event of rain on July 4th, the display will take place on Monday, July 5th.
Vehicular traffic on the island will be restricted. Please park in designated areas only. Parking is available at Glascock Field across from the Calvert Marine Museum, at the museum, in the public lot behind Our Lady Star of the Sea and the Solomons Medical Center. A shuttle will run from Glascock Field. The public is asked to respect private property.
